Road's End

Brandon took a week off in July and we intended to spend a portion of the week at a VRBO somewhere on the Oregon Coast with the kids.  However with all the craziness going on right now and with the twins at the stage they are we decided that just wasn't going to be a good choice for our family this year.  So although not at all the same we did leave the twins with Grammy for a day and took the bigger kids to their last swimming lesson and then out to the beach for the day.

We went to Roads End in Lincoln City.  On the way we stopped and bought them all Happy Meals with they were thrilled about and then they spent quite a few hours playing and enjoying the water.

This little trip gave us a small glimpse of what is ahead for our family.  Although we are still a big group and there are challenges that come with that it was really nice to not have any babies.  No diapers to change, or naps missed, or crying in the car and at the beach we were actually able to sit for a little while and just enjoy watching them play.

I'm certain I will forever miss having babies in our house but it is nice to have these moments to remember that this next season will have it's own special joy and adventures.

Evie and Hazel
Evie wasn't sure about the sand at first but Hazel showed her how it's done.  Hazel LOVES the sand!

The oldest 3 spent most of their time digging and building walls for this enormous city.  Daddy tried to help a little but they had their own plan which was alright with us.

All in all a fun day!  We came home sandy and tired but everyone had a lot of fun!
