Puppies

Zoey had 7 puppies on June 18th and every one of them was a boy.  So crazy!  Robert had been over to check her every day for about 3 days and we really thought she was going to have them on the 18th but after a day of watching her, and Robert coming to check before dinner, he left and said maybe tomorrow.  Fast forward a couple of hours to about 8:30 and Brandon and I are sitting on the couch watching T.V. and we hear a noise and right away Brandon says, "That's a puppy!"  She had her first one right in the kitchen on her bed.  We then moved her to the whelping box and went to tell the kids.  The girls were still up but we had to wake the boys.  It took Cooper a bit to wake up but Wyatt practically shot out of bed to watch.

We let the kids stay up until about 11 watching the puppies being born and finally after 5 had been born we called it a night and let Uncle Robert finish.  We sure appreciate him!   He stayed until about 3:30 a.m.  Apparently she pushed for a long time before she had the last two and he was actually kinda worried but he let her outside to walk around and when she came back in she finally delivered the last puppies.

The kids can't get enough of these fresh new puppies.

We put their colors on at a week old so that the kids could tell them apart and we took some fun pictures while they are still nice and sleepy.

Evie has chosen to love the yellow puppy and has named it Carrot.

Rocking Carrot.

Happy 4th of July!

I've let the babies in by the puppies just a little bit recently and they love them too!

The puppies are 3 weeks old and we have already sold the whole litter which is just crazy.  We didn't even have to officially list them.  One of the puppies is going to a co worker of Brandon's and we are very excited to be sending one to our good friends the Scully's but the rest all sold on a Facebook Labrador Retriever page.

The big 3 really did a lot of work this round feeding and watering the puppies 3 times a day, letting them out to play, and helping us to bring them in every night.  Daddy and Mommy are going to be ready to send them to their new homes but I'm pretty sure that the kids are really going to miss them!
"Muppy, Muppy, Muppy!!"
Volume 10
ALL DAY!  EVERYDAY!
She literally runs up to the kennel riles them all up yelling this and then comes inside and when all is quiet she goes out and does it again.

The kids each picked "their" puppy which they named and gave lots of extra attention to.
Hazel named the pink puppy Cookie.
Cookie went to a family in Albany expecting their first baby in December.  He was renamed Jackson Cooper.

Wyatt named the green puppy McSqueezy II.
At his new home we hear the kids have taken to calling him Otso (Oh-So) Easy McSqueezy.

Cooper named the orange puppy Orangie.
He went to our good friends the Scullys down in California.

Here's Wyatt waiting patiently for his buddy Sawyer to arrive.

Just hanging out.

Flying Home.

Sadie named the white/blue puppy Blueberry.
He went to Daddy's friend Collin from work.  He was first pick of the litter.

This was actually Mommy's puppy.  It was the red puppy and the kids named him Strawberry.
Strawberry was 2nd pick.

Daddy's puppy was the grey puppy and Daddy named him Chocolate Brownie Thunder!
He went to a family right here in Jefferson.

This is Evie's puppy, the yellow puppy, and she named him "Carrot."
Carrot went to a family in Eugene and got some extra love at the end as he was the last to go.  The last couple of hours were sad ones for the kids and there were definitely some tears as they said good bye.

He sleeps just like Zoey.

Silly Maddie.  They LOVE the dog bed!

Though we were ready it really was sad to see the last puppy go.  Hazel "literally" didn't want to let the puppy go when it was time and Cooper hesitated in saying good bye.  He kinda stood back when they came to get Carrot and when we asked if he wanted to he said he was good and then changed his mind and there were tears which made it hard for everyone but I think all in all everyone appreciated that their puppy had been so well loved.  It'll be fun to follow some of them on Facebook and who knows maybe we'll do it one more time.  The kids really do love it!!
