Wyatt's Season went a bit longer not wrapping up until July 13th. His team was hard to predict as they had a couple of brand new players and a couple players who were also playing on a tournament teams which meant there was a high likelihood they'd miss a lot of games, plus a coach who had never worked with any of these boys before. For all these reasons, they decided to play at the National level which ended up being a bit of a bummer as they really didn't see much competition during the regular season. They 10 runned nearly every team they played up until the last game of the season which they lost. From there however the season got exciting as they went to districts where they lost the first game and had to dig their way out and then on to state.

Wyatt's Baseball Season
Top Row: Coach Brandon, Coach Alex, Clayton, Dawson, Luke, Alric, Atticus, Wyatt, Korban, Lucah, and Coach Matt,
2nd Row: Blake, Gavin, Garrett, Grant, and Ronan
The 7/8 dugout wasn't nearly as wild as the 5/6 dugout.
Wyatt hit his first in the park grand slam on a 3-0 count driving in 3.
Wyatt had the opportunity to play catcher a few times.
District Playoffs June 28-29
Districts were quite a ride this year. We played our 1st game at 10:00 against Stayton whom we'd beat a couple of time in the regular season and we lost. I was completely unprepared as I thought we'd win and have a chance to go home for a bit between games. Instead we rolled right into game #2 at 1:00 and game #3 at 4:00 getting us home around 8:00. That's a long day for littles!
Sunday game #1 was played at 10:00 followed by game #2 again against Stayton which we lost securing 2nd place in districts.
The siblings of these boys deserve a huge shout out!

STATE TOUNAMENT 2025!
The state tournament was played in Happy Valley July 11-13.
This happened to be the same weekend the family headed up to Caldera which was a bummer but honestly also kinda nice to be able to send some of the kids off rather than dragging them to all of these games. We were thrilled that Sadie and Cooper wanted to stay and cheer on Wyatt and his team and we kept the twins with us as well. Our hope was either get eliminated quickly and get to vacationing or go all the way!
Game #1 - Win 6-16
There's something so fun about playing under the lights.
Game #2 - Win 10:4
Game #2 Wyatt pitched 5 innings and closed the 5th with an awesome catch!!!
For some reason I've been a little emotional over this season all year long. I think it has to do with Wyatt heading to High School next year. We give our kids everything we can but just like any parents we have our limitations. Sports specifically have been a challenge for us with a big family. The kids would love to play EVERYTHING but we knew early on we weren't going to be able to keep up with all the other families on this one. So we do as much as we can but it feels like our kids have to work a little harder. They're not able to play all the different sports or play for travel teams, and they didn't start playing as soon as they could walk. So by the time we get to Junior High it kinda feels like we've put all our eggs in one basket as they choose the sport they're going to pursue and we pray that it will be a life giving experience for them. I'm always hoping they'll be okay not being the very best and at the same time praying that they'll be good enough to get a lot of playing time and really get to experience the sport. Wyatt's team is especially fickle as it has such a range of experience and he seems to go from one year, like this one, where he's at the top of his team, to the next year where he's at the very bottom. He rolls with it like a champ but I really savor these years when he's playing in the infield and getting lots of hits. So seeing Wyatt out there getting this opportunity to pitch in a state tournament, doing what he loves, was especially meaningful. There's no guarantee what next season will look like but THIS year he was amazing. He played 1st base primarily but he also pitched a lot, caught a few times, and all around was a leader on the field.
The coach took him to the very end of his pitch count. To the point where he was tired and in the stands we were praying he'd just pull him because he's done so well and we could all tell he was tired, but coaches do what coaches do, and Wyatt did what Wyatt does and finished what was asked of him.
This CATCH!!!
Between Games we tried to stay cool in the car and we called Grammy to check in on Hazel and Evie and all the cousins in Caldera.
Game #3 - Win 12:2
My Super Fans!!!!
These girls did so great hanging out with us for 3 days.
Let's Go!
He was promised many many chicken nuggets and a Mc Flurry in celebration of a win and not having to be back on the field until noon.
Sunday Morning
Sunday morning before our final game Coach Matt and Kyle, Korban's Dad, baptized him in the creek near the field. It ended up being quite a hike but we all made it safely in and out, no one other than Korban ended up completely soaked, and it was a joy to witness his profession of faith.
Buried with Christ in baptism and raised to walk in the newness of life!!!
Quinn was an absolute godsend. The girls adore her and she's so was so sweet to them. I would have struggled to get them both down to the baptism with out her and no way I could have hauled them back out. Well I could have but I would have been completely exhausted.

Game #4 - Win 11:3
This kid cracks me up. There was a pitching change and I looked over and he'd just plopped down on his base. In his defense though that turf was soooooo hot!!!!
Lucah and Wyatt
Cooper and Josh
This is how we roll....
We thought about going home and then last minute Sunday morning decided you know what we're not driving an extra hour back home Sunday at 4:00. So we loaded all the bikes and suitcases and stuff for Caldera so it was ready and after winning state we gassed up, grabbed some really late lunch, and headed out.
