Brandon took 2 weeks off in July and though it wasn't all sleeping in and laying by the pool it was a nice change of pace.
Day 1: Trenching for new sprinklers
That's what most people day with their 1st day of vacation right???
In all seriousness though this guy is a really hard worker. We're excited to deal with a little less mud next winter and he's making it happen though he hates working in the dirt.
The boys are getting to be really big helps as well. They spent a lot of time helping us. Here they're digging for the new sprinkler box.
Sadie spent a lot of time out helping us too. All three of them carried and laid out pipe as Brandon glued it all together.
Day 2: 4th of July
We started the day helping Grammy get the garage cleaned out at the modular. She's in the process of moving over there and is excited to get things cleaned up. Brandon weed eated, the rest off us cleaned and hauled stuff out of the garage, we also organized the tools that are being kept into Robert's old room, oh and the kids caught what felt like 100 frogs and tadpoles.
We took a lot of frogs home. Not many, if any, survived.
Then we went over to watch fireworks in Turner with Ashley and Kasey and her Aunt.
It was a great show and the older kids actually found out friends were hanging out down the street so they watched them over there. Worked out pretty well for no planning.
Ashley's Aunt was so kind. She bought snacks for the kids, reserved a spot in front of her house for us to park, and roped of an area for us to sit across the street. So sweet! We may be forever spoiled.
Day 3: Started laying the pipe and made a trip to Home Depot for more pipes.
So excited to have a water spicket down below the retaining wall so we don't have to drag the hose across the lawn every time we need to give the goats water.
Yep that's Sadie!
Day 5: Miniature Golfing
Don gifted our family with a gift certificate for pizza and miniature golfing to use during Brandon's time off.
From Don: Thanks for being part of the family.
Day 7: Tubing Mill Creek
I forgot the life jackets so Daddy had to go back for them. Bummer! By the time he got back the kids were so ready to go that we all just crammed in the truck rather than making two trips to shuttle everyone to the let in point.
Day 8: Swimming Lessons
Aubrey, Maddie, and Evie took lessons this year and I think we officially have another swimmer. Yay! It feels like such a milestone getting to this point with each of the kids
Day 9-11: State
Day 12-14: Caldera
Day 15: Summer League
And Brandon made a delicious dinner for Sadie and I to come home to.
Day 16: Installing Fans
And the grand finale...Ceiling fans. Just in time for the warm days ahead.Always hard to see vacation come to an end whether we've gone somewhere or just enjoyed some time together at home. Thankful for this family of ours and for our great home and all the memories we're blessed to share.
