Troyer Addition: Week 44-45

December 30, 2023

Week 44-45: Finished electrical plugs, outlets, lights, and fire alarms.

Brandon taught the boys how to wire plugs so while he wired up switches and lights they wired up the new plugs.

Our new garage doors were installed a couple days after Christmas and I couldn't be more excited!!  I don't think we've ever parked in the garage before and it's going to be so amazing not having to load kids in the rain anymore.  Yay!!!!

And we organized the garage a bit.  Bought some plywood to redo some shelves we ruined in the rain, moved May's kennel out of the house (HOORAY!), and bought a shoe rack and some trash cans.  It's a good attempt at staying organized out there anyway.

Then it was off to the coast for the rest of the week for our anniversary while the kids headed back to school.

January 6, 2024

This week was a doozy.   We got home Saturday afternoon, went to church Sunday, and then tried to get ourselves ready to get back to the grind after 3 weeks off.  It's been great having Brandon home the past 3 weeks.  We enjoyed a trip with the kids, Christmas, our anniversary and some time away and now it's back to it.  Sigh!!!  We were hoping life would ease us back in but there's no such thing I'm afraid.

Monday was alright.  Got everyone out the door to school, spent a small fortune on groceries restocking everything, got back to doing homework with the kids, ughhhh!!!! 

AND THEN... Tuesday we woke up to no power.  So Brandon went out and got donuts and coffee, we got the kids out the door to school, and the twins and I headed over to Grammys for the morning.  Thankfully power was back on by 10 so it didn't end up being to bad and I had a chance to catch up with Uncle Robert which was really nice.

Wednesday Cooper got a tooth pulled.  Fun! Fun!  And we purchased a generator because there is more winter weather on the way and we are tired of waking up to no power which seems to happen to us quite often.  We also made a trip to Lowes with the big 3 while the littles were with Grammy at church to buy tile backer because we're picking up all of our flooring this week.  Exciting!

Thursday the insulators came back and insulated the attic and it wasn't a moment to soon because Saturday it's suppose to really start getting cold and I can't stomach any more enormous electric bills.

Add to that I got sick on Thursday, we sent Wyatt off to winter camp with the church on Friday evening, Sadie and Wyatt attended 2 basketball games at school, and I wouldn't say we really eased back into life, but regardless were officially back at it.
