Wrapping Up Another School Year

Here we are wrapping up the 2021-2022 school year.  It was a long year but a good year.  It felt strange still not being able to be in the classrooms, even conferences were via zoom, although I'm not sure there would have been time for that this year anyway and the school has really grown so there are a lot of families we don't know which also feels strange.  However, it was nice to have sports and as the year ended they brought back a few normal things like the spring musical.

Wyatt played the clarinet this year.

Sadie played the flute again this year.

I couldn't help but laugh when this came home.
"I can obey God.  I will be nice to the Twinkies."

This year was challenging for Hazel and we are ready for a bit of a break, but we worked hard and are proud of all she learned and the many ways we've seen her grow.
"Hazel showed amazing motivation to understand everything we were learning this year.  She asked questions, worked hard, and had a great attitude.  Hazel even asked for extra practice when she knew she didn't quite understand."

Coopers class did a unit on Rocks at the end of the year which he really enjoyed and at the end they made candy rocks.  Apparently it was one of the few times he showed his excitement so his teacher had to capture the moment.

Here's his face when she jokingly told him he had to smile if he wanted to go out to recess. :)

Cooper is apparently know in his class for being really good at Math.  I've heard this from at least 3 moms so I guess his award fits.  Way to go Cooper!!!

Loved this.  The class all writes down their favorite qualities about their classmates and then the teachers make them into this.

Great job working hard this year Wyatt!

I guess Sadie's class didn't do the traditional awards but Sadie also had a great year.  She had perhaps her favorite teacher of all time Mrs. House.  She grew in her love for reading more than I can even believe.  Mrs. House would do book tastings and Sadie thought they was a lot of fun and she would usually end up reading the book she chose and then asking to borrow the others as well which was awesome.  She also did great in math.  Mrs. House let me know after one test that she was the only student in the entire class to get 100%  She also loved her time chatting with Mrs. House at recess and getting her hair braided.  Such a mark Mrs. House has left.  We are thankful for her investment and Sadie is going to miss being in her class so much next year.  Seriously she's NEVER been so happy to go to school!!!

Also her class passed around compliment cards.  Each day the last week or two of school they would pick a card at random and write a complement about whomever they picked.

Our last day of school tradition is to go out to Red Robin.

Well that's another school year in the books :)
