Troyer Family Vacation

It's been quite awhile since we've taken a family vacation but this summer we decided to brave it.  The kids are growing up so fast and although it's really really hard with the twins right now we also don't want to pass up the chance to make these memories.

Grammy actually offered to watch the twins for a couple of nights and we were back and forth because we want everyone to make these memories together, but we also saw it as a great opportunity to enjoy our big kids and do things that typically just aren't doable for us.

DAY 1
Our first stop on the way to our beach house was the movie theatre to watch The Rise of Gru.  At 11:00 on a Thursday we had the place to ourselves.

They may have missed the movie but they are ALWAYS living their best life when they are with Grammy.

These 3 are clowns.  They didn't want to get up and get straws so they drank their water through the hole in the lid and thought they were hilarious.

So excited to be at the beach!!!

We were a little early for check in so we let them run down to explore the beach while we watched from the stairs thankful that they have each other.

Our VRBO: The Green Turtle in Lincoln City, Oregon.
Such a great spot!  Room for all of us and only a very short walk to the beach.

After unloading our stuff we headed back to the beach.

It was very strange to be sitting at the beach with 5 kids at 5:45 and not being in a complete panic about dinner and a toddler loosing their mind at any moment.

We took the kids out to dinner at Gallucci's Pizzeria.

Night #1 ended with a movie.

DAY 2
We started day 2 with a drive over to the Newport Aquarium.  Some kids were bigger fans of the experience than others but all in all it was a lot of fun.

Next we went over to Aquarium Village to do a little souvenir shopping.  Such a random spot but the kids seemed to have fun picking out some trinkets.

Meanwhile the girls took a trip down to Eugene with Grammy and Uncle Robert to watch Tommy and Hadley for a couple of hours.

The kids were pretty excited to get in the hot tub when we got back and a little bummed we didn't make it to the beach today.

We ended the night with a Marvel Movie.  The boys have been so excited to start watching these.

DAY 3
Day 3 was a beach day.  We headed down right after breakfast to check out the tide pools.

We played games at home for awhile while we wait for Grammy and the twins to arrive.

Then it was back to the beach with the Twinnies.  They enjoyed it a lot more than last year although it was still a little cold for them.

DAY 4
We spent the morning at the house playing and doing puzzles before heading to the beach.

DAY 5
As day 4 wrapped up we discovered that the kids had hand foot and mouth.  Grammy said the babies had seemed a little bit off but we didn't think much of it until we got home from the beach day 4 and Evie showed me bumps on her hands.  We've done this before so I immediately took a closer look at the babies hands and feet and sure enough they had it too.  Sadie and I also started feeling pretty lousy as we packed up to head home.  Such a bummer to end our trip this way but at least we were able to enjoy our time at the beach.

These little stinkers are starting to grow up but man to they give us a run for our money some days or maybe I should say many days.

We were a pretty pathetic bunch our first few days back at home. :(
