We stayed pretty busy this spring. As soon as it stopped raining for a few days we got to work on our retaining wall which has been falling apart for years. The kids unstacked all the block and then with Daddy's help we restacked it. Not sure it was worth it but at least it looks a bit neater for now and it gave us something we could all work on together. It's good to get everyone outside working together.
We also celebrated Grandpa's 85th birthday!
Sweet quiet Evie never ceases to surprise us with her quiet goofy side.
Thing 1 and Thing 2
Looking like they may be up to no good.
We also began work on a new chicken coup. The old one was falling over, had rats underneath it, and had basically just become an all around eye sore. We will all be glad to see it go.
For Christmas we gave Grammy a gift certificate for a work day. We said she needed to pick the projects and then we'd come over and work. She had us fix her backyard fence, remove a planter, and hang pigeon spikes.
Weekend movie nights are a favorite. The kids got a book from the library with all the Disney movies in alphabetical order. We've been working our way through them for nearly a year now.
Another pretty arrangement
It's always exciting when it warms up enough to start sending the kids outside with things like sand.
Although there were some nice days we still got a lot of rain this spring.
Grandpa came over to enjoy our baby goats with us one afternoon. He loves to tease the girls and they love pestering him right back. It's really pretty cute.
We took a trip to Eugene to visit Daddy at work and see Auntie Kendra's new house.
Over spring break Hazel got invited to go bowling with her friend Everly. I don't think she'd ever bowled before so it was a lot of fun and I always get a kick out of seeing these two together. They're two peas in a pod.
Evie is so sweet and quiet and easygoing. Sometimes we worry it's hard for her being sandwiched in between Hazel who has a big personality and the twins who also require a lot of attention. So when we can we try to sneak in some special time just with her
She's hillarious.
Evie "Can we listen to the potato dog song."
Me "That's not a song."
Guess I was wrong.
Love you Evie Rose
This view never gets old but man these early spring evenings seem especially spectacular.
