Week 70-73: Mudroom and downstairs bathroom tile. Final Electrical and HVAC inspections.
Brandon took the week of the 4th off to work on the house. He laid a ton of tile in the mudroom, we had the plumbers, electricians, and fire sprinkler guys out to wrap up their last few things, and we got our final electrical and HVAC inspections. We also got the okay to move the kids into their new bedrooms. Yay!!!!
The twins picked out a new lamp for their room.
Hazel and Evie's new room.
The boy's new room
Then on Friday afternoon Brandon and I snuck away to Sisters for a little but much needed break. Sadie watched the kids Friday night which was a huge deal and then in the morning Grammy and Robert came for the 4 little girls and Ashley came and grabbed the 3 oldest. Our trip was short and sweet but we appreciate any breaks we can get.

We took a great little hike on Saturday morning. It was really hot but it was nice to get outside.
We drove out to 3 creeks lake on Sunday morning and found the cutest little camp ground and lake. It actually got us excited about the idea of camping with the family again.
We came home to swimming lessons which the girls were not a fan of. I actually took Sadie up to Doernbecher to visit Wesley the morning of their first lesson and they did okay for Grammy but she said it was hard to keep them in the pool.
Day 2 was worse. Aubrey just laid on the pool deck and fussed because she didn't want to get in. I actually bought them goggles that covered their nose and eyes and had them mailed next day because I thought that would help but they tried them on before lessons and they smelled funny, go figure, and this is what sent Aubrey over the top. Sometimes you really just can't win.

This weekend was districts for Cooper's team. They won their first game against Santiam and then lost their next 2 taking 5th place overall.
Some of the boys talking to Wesley during the game.
Yep this is where we're at at this point in the season and if I have to take even one more trip to the porta potty with one of these girls I might actually loose my mind.
Wyatt wrapped up his last couple of practices this week before their team heads to districts. At the last practice the boys all shaved their heads at what they called the Bald Eagle Salon in support of Wes.
On Thursday the team took a trip up to Doernbecher and surprised Wes with a visit and their shaved heads. This is really what life is all about, showing up for the people you love when they need it the most. I seriously couldn't love this or this group of boys more. I think this is what they will remember this season by more than anything else.
Coach J.B.'s wife Sara made this video of the boys.
Meanwhile the twins made some progress at swimming lessons and we participated in VBS at our church.
Yep that's a twinny in the water.

At each game they hung up a photo of Wes and the boys would say hello to him on the livestream as they came up to bat. During our Stayton game Wes' mom said the nurses kept coming in to check on him because his blood pressure was rising due to the excitement of the game.
You can't see it very well but Wyatt hit this great double and when he got to 2nd he took of his hat bowed and rubbed his bald head. We don't promote any kind of show boating but we thought this was pretty awesome.
Bald Eagle Proud!
Although it's always hard to loose it was time for this season to wrap up. As a family we have given it our all. 2 boys on 2 teams was a lot, felt all consuming even, and though we love watching them play and we love the game, we are honestly exhausted and desperate to return to dinner around the table and to claim at least a few slow summer days before they're gone.
Sadie attended the Ducks volleyball camp in Eugene this week.
The twins wrapped up their last couple of swim lessons and they both jumped in which I consider to be a huge win and we took a last minute trip to the Dallas Aquatic Center with the cousins.
It is insane to think an entire month has gone by and we've only had 1 weekend at home. Brandon took a week off at the beginning of the month but then we went away for a weekend followed by 2 weekends of baseball and so here we are at the end of July wondering how we've gotten so little done on the house. This has been an insanely busy spring and start to summer. Ughh!!! We love all the new adventures big kids bring but man there sure are times I miss the simpler years where summer meant long days at home trying to figure out what I was going to do to keep all my littles busy.
