The Before Tour - Interior

It's hard for me to even remember what this house was before we moved in.  We'll always remember that first visit after purchasing it.  We pulled out dozens of air fresheners that made it smell like an old ladies house and then returned the next day to the terrible musty smell that all those air fresheners were obviously covering up and we though what have we done.  Brandon spent the first months sealing the crawl space to eliminate the smell and then that first year, while I was pregnant with Hazel, we did our first addition which was the kitchen and the den.  We also vented the foundation, raised the sunken family room, and redid all the flooring downstairs.

Progress was a little bit slower after that but year by year Brandon has moved through the house tearing bathrooms down to the studs and replacing flooring and trim and paint in every room.  It's fun to look back and remember how much he's done.

We'll be tearing out some of his hard work with this remodel which is a little bit painful but we know the end result will be more than worth it.

Balcony: This didn't feel stable enough to even go out on before we tore it off so we nailed the door shut shortly after moving in.

Upstairs Bedroom #2

This room will become some kind of study space with the closet turning into the opening into the addition where we are adding a laundry room, bathroom, 3 bedrooms, and a family room.

We're a little scared and a little excited at this point....
