We rented a beach house a few years ago at Christmas and the kids had so much fun that we decided to do it again. It's good to just get away together. This year we went over to Lincoln City and found a great spot just a few minutes walk from the beach.

We weren't even unpacked and the oldest 3 wanted to run down to watch the sunset. It's so nice that they're old enough to be able to do stuff like this.

I'm really noticing the differences in the girls' personalities these days. Aubrey sticks much closer to our family where as Maddie is always off making a friend.

Downtime
One of the fun parts about going at Christmas and just our family is that there tends to be a little more downtime. It's a little big cool in the mornings and there's no one to keep up with so it allows us to just move at our own pace. We watched some Marvel movies this trip, did some puzzles, and cooked a bit.

The kids have not been down to see the sea lions so we had to take them. I'm not sure they love them as much as I do but Wyatt did say they were his "spirit animal" which may make me laugh for the remainder of my life. He can be really hilarious.
Gilgamesh
We ended with dinner out. We were going to go to the Pelican but the wait was insanely long and we were hungry so we ended up at a new restaurant at the outlets. It was just so so but Maddie loved the chicken strips which was a win and we didn't have to wait forever.
Always a great to get away together. Thankful for this family of mine and this opportunity to make some memories together.
