Estacada Lake

One of Brandon's friends from work, Ray, offered to take our family out on his boat a couple of weekends ago.  It was spontaneous and not our usual jam but we decided to give it a try and had a great time.  A few weeks before this a group of guys from work had stopped by to drop off a few fish they'd caught and decided to give us a hard time by telling the kids that we'd bought a boat and that they were dropping it off.  Anyway the kids got so excited about it that Ray said he wanted to actually take them out for a ride.

We started with a little rock climbing and jumping into the lake.  The water was pretty cold but the kids had a blast and even Daddy and Ray jumped in once.

I was very relieved that these two little monsters didn't fight the life jackets because that would have been a real game changer.

Ray even let the kids drive and use the horn.

He also brought a big bag of snacks which the kids loved.

Just before lunch we stopped and through some lines in the water.  Hazel was the only one to catch a fish and she was as entertaining as ever.

Ray grilled us hot dogs for lunch.

Checking on our fish.

We wrapped the time up with a little more swimming and jumping and then it was time to load up before we lost the babies.

Thankful for these fun memories and a day on the lake with this not so little family of ours.
The kids already want to know when we can do it again.

Pacific City

Pacific City Seems like its always end of August before we get to the beach but better late than never.  Seems like as the kids get older ...
