Summer Blooms
I Love all the summer blooms!!!!
But these peonies....I'm obsessed!
Splash Pad
The splash pad still seems to be fun for all the kids which I love. Pretty sure Sadie does it for the excuse to lay out but I'll take it.
Sports Physicals
Sports physicals and stickers for these 3 goofballs.
Cole and Wyatt
Wyatt and Cole didn't get to hang out after graduation so they planned something for the following weekend which worked out just as well because Wyatt was able to bring his new gun. They shot some clay pigeons and apparently hunted a turkey with Ashley's permission.
Swimming
Cooper enjoyed a swim hang out at the Harris' with some friends from school. He learned that even though he doesn't typically burn he too CAN burn and he should have listened to his Mama and put on his sunscreen.
A Trip to the Dentist
Evie lost 3 teeth today. She had to have 2 pulled, poor kid, and there was a wiggly one in the way that they just pulled out as a bonus.
Tea Party
Hazel enjoyed her anual tea party at her friend Everly's Grandma's house.
Hay
We picked up a ton of hay for the goats with the oldest 2 kids. They made us laugh nearly the entire time. Sadie can be so sour a lot of the time and Wyatt can be a real irritant, but then we have these moments where the attitudes are set aside for a minute and we get a glimps of who they are beyond all of that and they really are so much fun.
Brandon might have let Wyatt have an energy drink before he loaded into the truck. On our way back into town the kid could not shut up. Called himself "Big Brain" I believe at one point. We were laughing as he asked question after question until Brandon finally said what in the world?!?! This is like when you were little all over again...How many questions can you possibly have??? Then it dawned on us... ENERGY DRINK... The world has been formally warned!
Costco with The Three Stooges.
Wyatt is "bulking" according to Sadie.
Homemade Strawberry Lemonade
Aubrey's 1st Lost Tooth
Aubrey lost her wobbly tooth on the way to Turner Lake to pick Sadie up. It was a bit of a fiasco as she went into full panic and I had no napkins or Kleenex or water to pass her. Once the initial crisis of blood was averted she was pretty excited!
Tommy & Hadley
Kendra and Andy are out of town for the week and after a week of VBS and watching them Grammy also had to make 150 cupcakes for a wedding. So Autumn and Hazel and Evie helped me entertain them for the afternoon while Grammy baked.
Sadie's New Car
We bough Sadie a car, a 2011 Honda CR-V. Hard to believe she will have a driver's license in just a few short months. I'm both excited and terrified. It will be so wonderfully convenient to have another driver but also scary and I'll be sad to lose so much of my time in the car with her. We spend a lot of time driving around together these days. Windshield time as I've heard one person refer to it. Though it can be exhausting managing all the schedules and getting them to all the places there are so many great conversations had when they're stuck in the car with you. I will definitely miss my time with her as she becomes more and more independent.
Baby Yoda found a spot to ride.
Grilling Then and Now
Two of the silliest sisters around.
VBS and Jefferson Baptist Church
The kids always really enjoy going to VBS at JBC. The 3 oldest were leaders and the 4 youngest attended. I couldn't help but wonder if this is the last year that they'll all participate together. Sadie almost didn't do it this year but then at the last minutes she found out that her friend Vivienne was doing it so she did as well. They all seemed to have a lot of fun. I think I'm grieving a little this summer what seems like it may be the end of these years of doing so many things all together. Sadie is so excited for the upcoming freedom of having her license and possibly a job. I'm just really trying to enjoy this summers memories as I get ready to embrace the season ahead.
Cooper especially surprised me. He was all in and more and more I see him becoming such a steady leader. He sang and did motions and and came up with creative ways to engage his campers. He had so much fun with the kids in his group. Russell, the little boy in the red and white shirt in front of Cooper, was one of his campers and seemed to really love Cooper.
Mill Creek
I remembered recently a friend telling me about this float and thought it might be fun. The Chins and Philips were out of town but their kids were willing to be our guides. It was such a fun beginner float. The water was pretty warm and shallow which was nice since I have 3 that don't swim well and the kids all had a great time though Hazel at various points thought she might DIE!!! or go over a waterfall!! Evie and the twins on the other hand spent a lot of their time standing and surfing in their tubes.
