Pacific City

 Pacific City

Seems like its always end of August before we get to the beach but better late than never.  Seems like as the kids get older this trip is changing but they were definitely excited about getting dinner at The Pelican and most of them were excited about climbing the dune.

It was a rough start with this one as her little sister was digging like a dog and dug sand all over her to which she responded less than graciously.  It's been a long week.

Aubrey

At least she's aiming the digging in the right direction this time.

Maddie

Not sure if I'll ever understand why they love being so covered in sand but I'll enjoy it because obviously they out grow it.

Kaufmans also happened to be heading to the beach today with a teenager who was less than thrilled so it worked out perfectly.  Teenagers could commiserate while the rest of us enjoyed the sunshine.

Such a HUGE dune and we climbed straight up this year instead of taking the long way around.  I honestly didn't think I could make it up this way but I did.  I was pretty proud.  The kids also all made it up, even our little twinnies!

Ollie made it too but he ran down before we could get this picture.

Such a beautiful view

Hazel and Autumn

Time to go

But first dinner...
Always a long wait but the kids still say it's worth it.

She wanted pictures with the sunset.
She's in a really good mood these days and we're so thankful!
Change is hard.
Break-ups are hard.
Highschool is hard.
We can see the beautiful girl inside even when she can't.
Today I'm just thankful to see her smile!
It's always darkest before the dawn.

Can we just stay right here forever.

Loved more than she knows.

Stronger than she knows.

They all are!!
And we get to witness that strength grow over many years and through many trials.
Thank you Jesus for these girls!  Help them to learn early to find their identity in You alone.

Goodbye Pacific City.  Goodbye Summer!

Wrapping Up Summer 20

 VBS at The Shift

Wyatt, Cooper, and I volunteered to help with VBS at our church while the littles attended.  Always pretty chaotic but the girls had a great time and Cooper made some new little friends.

Cooper and Titus

These are late nights

Grass

It's Growing...

Sunday Outings

Sadie is finishing up her last practices at Level One which means we have a little time to kill after church.  Today we filled the time with Costco.

If you can't see that's Dog-Dog and Aristokitty hanging out the left window and Baby Yoda out the right.

Pumpkins

We found some pumpkins growing out in the pasture so the kids tried to transplant them before the goats get them.

Youth Camping Trip

Sadie, Wyatt, and Cooper attended a weekend camping trip with our youth group.  While they were gone the little girls enjoyed some sleepovers on the new couch and a trip out for frozen yogurt.

The kids left Friday evening to go camping out in Lincoln City.  On Saturday night we got a call saying Wyatt had been stung by a hornet and had a rash covering his entire body within about 4 minutes.  They'd given him Benadryl but as this wasn't a typical reaction for him we decided to have them head towards a hospital as they were about 30 minutes from the nearest one.  By the time he got to the hospital in Dallas where we meet them he was throwing up and swelling more and just feeling terrible.  Thankfully they rushed him in quickly and got him taken care of.  He didn't end up needing epinephrine this time but we are now owners of an epi-pen.  Yay!!!  Just Kidding.  It was not a fun experience for Wyatt or Sadie who was left at camp really shaken up by the whole thing, but we were so thankful for the kind nurses and I think God even used this experience to strengthen and work in Sadie.  He's always at work.  Nothing is wasted.

Goodbye Scaffolding!!!

Can't even tell you what a great day this was.  We're so excited to have the scaffolding torn down AND to have Brandon off of it.  Shortly after hanging his last piece it broke free and really scared us.  Thankful Brandon is done and safe.

I almost pooped my pants face.  Imagine me rolling my eyes now.  This ones just for him :)

Ya that vertical board was screwed into the cross section.  Not leaning against the house.

Grandpa

Grandpa came for a visit this August!  We enjoyed dinner together, a walk around the refuge, and some Mandalorian.

Volleyball Tryouts

Then Monday morning it was right to Volleyball tryouts which meant daily doubles Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and single practices in the evenings Tuesday and Thursday.  This year was particularly stressful as Sadie was competing against on of her best friends for a position which really just stinks anyway you cut it.  There were 4 setters trying out and one is a senior which means they needed 2 on J.V. and 1 on varsity.  Long and short of it.... such a stressful week.

Both Sadie and Payton ended up making the Varsity team which was finally announced on Friday afternoon.  I had to laugh because Sadie's not really a crier but she cried from excitement and sheer exhaustion!  We are sooo proud of her and excited for this upcoming season which officially starts next Thursday, Back to School night, when they play in a Jamboree followed by a Friday trip to Redmond to play in a tournament.  Full Send as Sadie says!

Celebratory Boba Drinks!

And right into getting ready for the season.
The team already had a short article published about them.
LET'S GO!!!
